Ferguson wouldnt have let Pogba train separately from the Man Utd squad like Solskjaer has, blasts Scholes

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Paul Scholes has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson would never have let Paul Pogba train separately from the rest of the squad like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has.

French midfielder Pogba is currently hard at work at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai while his teammates are doing warm-weather training in Marbella.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes claimed Sir Alex Ferguson wouldn’t have let that happen

The 26-year-old has been out of action for United with an ankle injury following a brief Boxing Day appearance against Newcastle.

SunSport revealed Pogba is using the 36,000 AlterG anti-gravity treadmill to boost his recovery as he hopes to return to the pitch next month.

However, former midfielder Scholes has revealed that Ferguson wouldn’t have allowed such treatment of a player during his legendary reign.

He Robbie Savage on BBC Radio 5 Live: I dont think it wouldve done down very well.

Players seem to go off and do their own stuff now. When I was there, our manager wouldnt have allowed that type of thing to happen.

Ferguson, who famously sold David Beckham and Roy Keane after high-profile fall outs, was also the one who allowed Pogba to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer to Juventus in 2012.

And Scholes is not the first former player of his that has claimed the Scot would have dealt with the Frenchman differently than other managers since his return to United four years later.

Yet World Cup Winner Pogba is not the only player not joinining Solskjaer’s men in Spain, with new signing Odion Ighalo forced to stay in England.

The former Watford star, 30, has been kept separate from his new United team-mates after arriving from China in January amid fears over the coronavirus.

Ighalo was signed on loan from Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season but Scholes admitted that he doesn’t see him starting many games.

He added: I dont think hes a signing for the long term. I think his scoring record in China is very good but is it that credible? I dont know.

He is an out-and-out centre forward, I dont think United have an out-and-out centre forward. Hell play with his back to goal and he might bring players into play.

Its good to have an extra body but when youre united you want an extra body with quality and hes got that to prove. Hell bring something different. I dont see him starting many games.
