Former Arsenal and Manchester United Prospect Joins Sheriff Tiraspol

From Premier League Academies to Moldovan Champions

Sheriff Tiraspol, the 21-time Moldovan champions, have secured the signing of former Arsenal and Manchester United academy prospect Tyler Reid. The 26-year-old right-back will join the club on a free transfer, with the deal set to be completed on January 1.

Reid's journey has taken him from the youth teams of two Premier League giants to the current league leaders in Moldova. He started his career in the Gunners' academy before moving to Manchester United at the age of 15. During his time at United, he played alongside Marcus Rashford and won two Premier League 2 titles with the club's under-18s.

After leaving United, Reid had spells with Swindon, Woking, and Finnish sides FF Jaro and VPS. He won League Two with Swindon before making the move to Finland. Now, after two years in Finland, he is ready to embark on a new chapter with Sheriff Tiraspol.

Sheriff Tiraspol's European Journey

Sheriff Tiraspol is no stranger to European competition. They played in the Europa League earlier this season, finishing bottom of a group that included Slavia Prague, Roma, and Servette. In the previous season, they made history by becoming the first Moldovan club to reach the Champions League group stage. They even secured a famous win at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid on their way to finishing third.

Although Sheriff couldn't replicate their European success this season, Reid's arrival could boost their chances of winning the league title in 2024. Currently, they are six points clear at the top of the Moldovan National Division after 14 matches.

It's a remarkable journey for Reid, who has overcome non-league struggles to earn a move to a top-flight European club. His experience with two of the biggest clubs in English football will undoubtedly benefit Sheriff Tiraspol as they aim to maintain their position at the top of Moldovan football.
