No Signs of Retirement at 51
Former Fulham striker Barry Hayles, who enjoyed a 33-year career in football, has no intention of hanging up his boots at the age of 51.
Offers Still on the Table
Despite being currently without a club, Hayles has received offers from clubs who are trying to sign him.
Mentoring Young Players
Hayles revealed in an interview with the Daily Star that he has moved into mentorship after completing last season with Windsor FC. He has been mentoring young players in step ten of the English football pyramid.
Preference for Action
Although Hayles is no longer playing, he admitted that he prefers to be in the thick of the action rather than on the sidelines. Coaching keeps him involved, but he gets too enthusiastic when watching from the side of the pitch.
Career Highlights
Hayles joined Fulham from Bristol Rovers and played 215 games for the club. He had a successful strike partnership with Louis Saha, netting eight goals in his first season in the Premier League. He also had spells at Sheffield United, Millwall, Plymouth, and Leicester, among others.
Netting 134 Goals
In his journeyman career, Hayles scored a total of 134 goals across English football.
