FREDDIE LJUNGBERG is set to stay at Arsenal after Mikel Arteta was named as boss.
The Swede, 42, served as Unai Emerys assistant before taking over as interim chief following the Spaniards sacking last month.
Arsenal have won once in five matches in that time and the former Invincible will lead them out for the final time against Everton this weekend.
Arteta, 37, failed to shed any light on Ljungbergs future at the club during his first press conference as boss on Friday night.
But Ljungberg wrote on Twitter: The message from me is still the same, get behind us and support the team!
Its been an honour to have helped the club I love for the last few weeks and I am excited to work with Mikel Arteta and his staff moving forwards.
Arteta who left Man City to sign a three-and-a-half year deal with the Gunners is understood to want to include fellow Etihad assistant Rodolfo Borrell and ex-Man Utd coach Steve Round in his new backroom team.
The Spaniard said of Ljungberg: It is a conversation I had with him this morning when we spoke to the players.
I had a conversation with him afterwards to see his expectations and how I see the situation and we will know something after that.”
