Fulham eye PSG striker Hugo Ekitike as Mitrovic prepares to leave

Who will replace Mitrovic?

Fulham is set to enter the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike. The English club is on the verge of finalizing Aleksandar Mitrovic's move to Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal for approximately £43m. As a result, Fulham is looking for firepower upfront and Ekitike, who has garnered interest from Everton, West Ham, and other European clubs, is one of the potential replacements.

PSG willing to let Ekitike go

Hugo Ekitike, a 21-year-old French forward, was on loan at PSG from Stade Reims last season and the deal was made permanent earlier this summer for £24m. However, despite his young age, PSG is already looking to cash in on the Under-20 international, asking for a fee between £30m-£34m. With multiple clubs vying for his signature, the battle for Ekitike's services is heating up.

Displeasure over Mitrovic's exit

Fulham's manager Marco Silva has not hidden his frustration over the impending departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic. The Serbian striker has been a key figure for the club, scoring 111 goals in 205 games, including 14 in the Premier League last season. However, his relationship with the fans was strained when it was rumored that he refused to play for Fulham again after their initial bid from Al Hilal was rejected. Despite making a brief appearance in their recent win against Everton, Mitrovic missed the team's loss to Brentford as he traveled to complete his move.

Silva expressed his disappointment, saying, "He forced everything to leave the club, he wanted to leave the club. If you ask me if it is normal? No. If you ask me if football players should behave in this way? No. That is the easy answer."

Fulham will now look to the transfer market to find a suitable replacement for their departing striker, with Ekitike emerging as a potential target.
