Fulham want Steve Cooper to replace Scott Parker for Prem promotion push

FULHAM have put Steve Cooper on the top of their wanted list to be Scott Parker’s replacement as boss.

The relegated outfit think Swansea chief Cooper would be ideal as he plays good football with young teams, as they aim for a quick return to the top flight.

Fulham are ready to replace Scott Parker with Steve Cooper

And Fulham would pay the compensation figure for Cooper and his team, which is only £3.5million for a Championship club — £1m less than if a Premier League side took him.

Swansea will demand every penny for Cooper and his staff, including highly-rated right-hand man Mike Marsh.

The Cottagers do not want to spend but will soon have money to invest as Bournemouth will pay to take Parker — as we first revealed.

Fulham prefer Cooper to other targets.

Eddie Howe has support after being left on the shelf during the summer.

He snubbed Celtic and a move to Scotland but may fancy London.

Cooper has been strongly linked with Crystal Palace after two fine seasons in charge of the Swans but the Eagles have ripped up their list and are now looking elsewhere for their manager.

Scott Parker looks braced to take the job at Bournemouth

Meanwhile Parker is expected to join Bournemouth and it could be as soon as next week.

The Cherries have made Parker their No1 target to take over from the departing Jonathan Woodgate.

Fulham are adamant they will not let their manager, who still has two years left on his £3million-a-year contract, go on the cheap.
