, Gabriel Jesus reveals Zinchenko is Arsenal squad’s biggest joker, but says ‘he wanted to kill me’ when he hit back

ARSENAL stars Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have played together for a long time with the duo sharing an excellent friendship on and off the pitch.

But the Brazilian, 26, revealed that his Ukrainian team-mate “wanted to kill him” over a joke about his Premier League title contributions during their time together at Manchester City.

Zinchenko and Jesus have remained close friends since their move from City to Arsenal

Former citizens transferred for a combined fee of £75million. They are both first choice in their respective positions

The duo won four titles during their spell at the Etihad Stadium under Pep Guardiola.

Yet, the sale of both players from the North West to North London, was sanctioned by Pep last summer.

Since then, both stars have played an instrumental role in Arsenal’s unexpected title charge.

Arsenal sit eight points clear of City heading in to the final nine fixtures.

Opening up on the pair’s friendship, Jesus says that Zinchenko is among the jokers of the group in North London – but he doesn’t like being the punchline.

Speaking to Footballers Lives on TikTok, the forward said: ” I think Alex [Zinchenko] is the king of joking.

“All the time he just jokes with someone. One day he was like saying things you know, joking like ‘ah, I won four Premier Leagues you know and then the last one I give to you’.

“He says, ‘that last one, last season, I came on against Villa, we were 2-0 down’.

“He came on and honestly he changed the game you know because he received the ball, attack and he gave an assist.

“He just said that ‘I gave you one trophy, one Premier League, because of me, you have four’.

“I said ‘listen, okay, I accept that but in four Premier Leagues, you only start 20 games’. He wants to kill me.”

The cheeky jibe referred to Zinchenko’s lack of game time under Guardiola, with Joao Cancelo generally the preferred starter at Man City.

The comical duo will be looking to get one over their former side, by both pipping Man City to the title and by getting a result in their potential title decider on April 26.
