Guardiola admits Man City spoke to Kyle Walker about lockdown breaches including hosting sex party with two hookers

PEP GUARDIOLA has admitted that Manchester City have spoken to Kyle Walker about his behaviour during lockdown.

The England right-back breached coronavirus rules four times after the nation was told by the government to stay indoors.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted the club spoke to Kyle Walker over his lockdown breaches

In April, SunSport exclusively revealed how Walker hosted a £2000 sex party with two call girls in his flat.

The 30-year-old then breached lockdown rules three times inside 24 hours by driving to Sheffield to visit family before later joining a pal for a cycle ride in Manchester.

He issued an emotional statement explaining his actions — and City said he would not be punished for a second offence.

Speaking for the first time on the matter at today’s press conference, Guardiola admitted the club have spoken to Walker about his coronavirus antics.

Yet the Spaniard – whose mother sadly died after contracting the deadly virus – refused to condemn the former Tottenham defender.

Guardiola said: “I judge my players with what happens on the pitch.

“He made a brave statement about what happened in this period. The club spoke with him.

“I want the best for him and his family, his wife, his kids, his parents. The human being always comes first ahead of the football player. Kyle expressed his thoughts in a statement.”

Walker – who is available for City’s return against Arsenal on Wednesday  – released a statement after his lockdown breaches expressing concerns over his mental health.

He wrote: “At a time when the focus is understandably on Covid-19, at what point does mental health get taken into consideration, an illness which affects every sufferer differently?

“I am a human being, with feelings of pain and upset just like everybody else.

“Being in the public eye as a professional athlete does not make you immune to this. It is sad, but I feel as though my life is being scrutinised without any context.

“I understand if people are upset or angry with me, but it was important for people to have a better understanding of my life.”
