‘He doesn’t care at all’ – Premier League stars in stitches at Richarlison taking shirt off and having goals disallowed

MICHAIL ANTONIO and Callum Wilson were in stitches as they discussed Richarlison’s unfortunate goal celebrations this season.

The Tottenham star finally bagged his first goal for the club last Sunday, dramatically heading home a stoppage time equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Brazilian went wild after equalising for Spurs

Michail Antonio and Callum Wilson laughed at Richarlison’s celebrations

Richarlison, 25, went wild upon hitting the back of the net, taking his shirt off and shushing the home fans before performing his “pigeon” celebration alongside team-mate Son Heung-min.

Unfortunately for the Brazilian, Lucas Moura’s ill-judged pass played in Diogo Jota just moments later – with the Portuguese forward winning it for the Reds.

Discussing Richarlison on The Footballers’ Football Podcast, Antonio said: “He’s scored four goals this season, three of the times he’s been offside.

“He has taken his top off four times this season.”

Through laughter, Newcastle star Wilson added: “He’s got four yellows he’s almost on a suspension.”

As it turns out, Richarlison has only been booked three times this season, and only once for celebrating a disallowed goal.

That came back in September against Fulham, when he removed his shirt after thinking he’d put his side 3-1 up, only for Ryan Sessegnon to be deemed offside in the build-up.

He subsequently scored twice against Marseille in the Champions League, but didn’t remove his shirt on either occasion.

Aside from after his celebrations against Fulham and Liverpool, Richarlison’s other yellow card came for dissent during August’s 1-1 draw at Antonio’s West Ham.

He also had a goal disallowed against Nottingham Forest in March, but did not remove his shirt on that occasion.

The Hammers forward continued: “I need to know. Even his goal the other day was so close to being offside.

“This man I swear to you, I rate him. Because he doesn’t care. He doesn’t care at all.”

Antonio then went on to add: “Those moments there I understand taking your shirt off, like. I fully get it, like.

“Those moments there, you have to take it off, you’ve got to run around blah blah.

“But the fact is he has done it on three other occasions, this season, and been offside.

“That would be in the back of my mind. That would live, that would have a fully planted seed in there thinking, ‘I need to see, like, I need to know If i’m onside before I go nuts.”
