Heroic Sunderland Star Rescues Drowning Dog at Beach

Sunderland footballer Luke O’Nien is being hailed as a hero after saving the life of a dog in distress on a North East beach. The popular defender spotted an elderly Labrador struggling in the sea and rushed to its aid. Eyewitnesses said O’Nien performed chest compressions on the dog until it coughed up seawater and started breathing again.

Acts of Kindness

This isn't the first time O’Nien has earned praise for his acts of kindness. Just days before a game against Middlesbrough, he stopped to help a stranded motorist on the A19. The footballer offered moral support and kept the driver and her children company as they waited for a recovery truck.

New Chant for the Hero

Sunderland fans have come up with a catchy chant to honor O’Nien’s heroics. Supporters may be heard singing, "He’ll shoot, he’ll score, he’ll save your Labrador. Luke O’Nien," at this weekend's match against Coventry City.
