How Spurs could line up for Burnley with Winks fit after Man Utd scare but Davies, Lamela and Lloris still out

JOSE MOURINHO will fight the temptation to shake up his Tottenham line-up when selecting a side to face Burnley on Saturday.

The midweek defeat to Manchester United exposed a number of weaknesses still present in this Spurs side despite the arrival of the new boss – from their attitude to flimsy midfield.

How we see the home team lining up on Saturday

But a number of key injuries may limit how far Mourinho goes to reinvigorate his XI.

Ben Davies (ankle) won’t come in at left-back, most likely leaving Jan Vertonghen to fill in while Mourinho struggles to trust Danny Rose.

Hugo Lloris (elbow) and Michel Vorm (calf) are also absent to give Paulo Gazzaniga a chance to recover from his error on Wednesday.

And Lucas Moura should keep his place on the wing with Erik Lamela still unavailable due to a hamstring problem.

One plus point for Mourinho is the fitness of Harry Winks, the midfielder set to shake off an ankle knock that ended his Wednesday night early.

Partnering the England man alongside Moussa Sissoko could be unpopular after the Frenchman’s struggles at Old Trafford, opening the way for Tanguy Ndombele.

Giovani Lo Celso and Eric Dier are also competing for a spot and the anchor man may earn a recall if Mourinho does fancy a change-up.

A potential formation switch could allow Dier and Eriksen a chance to impress

If the coach wants to get more out of the in-form Dele Alli, dropping the all-action midfielder into the engine room as part of a diamond could pay off with Christian Eriksen a candidate for the No10 role.

Burnley head to North London off the back of two straight defeats but have reason for optimism given Spurs‘ inconsistencies.

The loss to Manchester United featured their eighth goal conceded in four games under Mourinho while they sit only two points clear of the Lancashire side.
