An Arsenal fan reveals what it's like living next to the Emirates Stadium
A die-hard Arsenal fan known as "Denis at the Emirates" has opened up about what life is like living next to the famous Emirates Stadium in North London. Despite having 60,000 people passing by his bedroom window on match days, Denis absolutely loves living there.
In a TikTok video that has gained massive attention, Denis shares the perks of living in such close proximity to the stadium. The clip shows him in his flat with a clear view of the massive stadium, followed by footage of fans pouring into the stadium and even foxes roaming the railway line nearby. It also features Arsenal Fan TV filming right outside Denis' living room. And to top it off, Denis is shown standing on his balcony, starting football chants with every person that passes by.
With over 5.9 million views and 539,000 likes on TikTok, Denis has become quite the sensation among Arsenal supporters and beyond. One fan even expressed their envy, saying, "I've seen you on your balcony so many times when I walk past. Always thought to myself what a place to live."
Living in the shadow of the stadium has brought both pros and cons for the residents of the area. While some businesses have seen a boost in trade, others, like Carl Nelson who runs the Arsenal Mini Mart, have suffered losses. Nelson estimates losing between £3,000-£4,000 on match days due to the inability to sell alcohol. However, pubs and cafes in the vicinity are thriving, taking advantage of the surge in business.
Emily Grant, a resident near the stadium, may not be an Arsenal fan herself, but she enjoys the vibrant atmosphere that comes alive on match days. She appreciates the stadium's role in attracting new investments to the area, ensuring that local pubs and shops can continue to operate.
