‘I’m very happy and at home’ – Aubameyang takes Arsenal swipe after fifth Barcelona goal following free transfer

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG looks to have taken a swipe at Arsenal by claiming he is ‘at home’ at Barcelona.

The Gabon star moved to the Nou Camp on February 2 just days after his £350,000-a-week contract at the Emirates Stadium was terminated.

That followed a major fall-out with former boss Mikel Arteta – although the striker appears to be getting along swimmingly with his new manager Xavi.

Aubameyang will be looking to add to his total of five goals in his first six games when Barcelona visit Elche today.

And ahead of the LaLiga clash, he seemingly aimed a dig at his old club while speaking to Bein Sports France.

The 32-year-old said: “Things are going very well with Xavi. He is a legend and will contribute many things to the club.

“Barca deserves to be in front and I am very happy there because I am at home. I’m Spanish for my mother’s sake.

“My grandfather was from Atletico and I just hope that wherever he is, he will be proud of me for playing in the league.

“The league is a good competition for me because it allows me to utilise my qualities.

“When you enter Camp Nou it’s something! Another dimension. I really enjoy it.”

Aubameyang scored 92 goals in 163 matches for Arsenal.

He got off the mark for his new side with a hat-trick against Valencia in his fourth appearance before strikes versus Napoli and Athletic Bilbao.
