TEDDY SHERINGHAM has urged Harry Kane to leave Tottenham in order to win trophies.
The England captain netted twice in Spurs’ 5-0 thrashing of Everton on Monday night as he moved above Thierry Henry in the list of the Premier League‘s all-time top scorers.

Kane now has 176 top flight goals to his name but is still without a single trophy to show for them.
And Sheringham, who left Tottenham to join Manchester United in 1997, feels departing Spurs would be the right move for his career.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “It’s a tough one. He’s got to eye up the situation the same as what I did really.
“It’s a short career. You get probably 12, 14 years if you’re lucky. He’s coming to another crossroads in his career of ‘What do I do? Do I stay at a club which might challenge? Or do I go somewhere that I know they’re going to challenge?
“And if I was advising him – which Tottenham supporters are not very happy about when I say this – you know, you want to play at the top level.
“You want to be playing in Champions League finals. You want to be playing at the end of the season for the league title. You want to be playing in FA Cup finals.
“And if you want to do that, I think he needs to leave.”
During Sheringham’s first spell at Spurs he scored 98 goals in 197 games.
He then left for Old Trafford and enjoyed a huge amount of success under Sir Alex Ferguson.
On a personal front, he netted 46 times in 153 appearances for United.
But it was his trophy cabinet which received the biggest boost as he claimed three Premier League titles, the FA Cup and Champions League.
He was a part of the 1998/99 squad that won an historic treble – with Sheringham netting the dramatic late equaliser in the Champions League final, before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored the winner moments later.
He then returned to Tottenham in 2001 and spent two seasons back at White Hart Lane where he scored 26 times in 80 games.
Meanwhile, Kane was heavily linked with a move to Man City last summer but it was ultimately blocked by Tottenham chief Daniel Levy.
And his future beyond the end of the season remains up in the air as Spurs prepare to fight to keep him once more.
City have been linked with another move for him, while United are also thought to be in the frame.
