JAKE GREALISH has revealed he WANTED to take a penalty in England’s Euro 2020 final shootout with Italy.
The Three Lions were beaten 3-2 on penalties in front of a packed crowd at Wembley on Sunday night.
Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka missed the decisive penalty following misses from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
England fans were left wondering why Aston Villa ace Grealish didn’t take a spot-kick after coming on in extra time.
Grealish was eager to take a pen, tweeting: “I said I wanted to take one!!!!.”
The Villa skipper, however, was quick to back Gareth Southgate’s choice of penalty takers,
“The gaffer has made so many right decisions through this tournament and he did tonight!
“But I won’t have people say that I didn’t want to take a peno when I said I will.”
