Jadon Sancho could ‘regret’ Man Utd transfer and should stay at Borussia Dortmund, says Old Trafford icon Paul Ince

JADON SANCHO could “regret” moving to Manchester United and should stay at Borussia Dortmund, according to Paul Ince.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been chasing the £108million-rated England winger, 20, all summer.

Jadon Sancho should stay at Dortmund for his progression’s sake, says Ince

Ince reckons Sancho can become world-class if he stays at Dortmund for now

However, United missed the August 10 deadline to complete a deal, with the Bundesliga giants adamant they won’t sell now their pre-season is underway.

But Ince thinks it is a blessing in disguise, for Sancho at least, who would be better off staying in Germany.

Old Trafford icon Ince told the Daily Star: “At Dortmund he’s playing every week and that’s what he wants.

“He’s still going to be scoring goals for Dortmund in the Champions League next season.

“There’s no rush for him. He can take his time and he’s still got lots to learn.

“Sancho can keep developing at Dortmund.

“He doesn’t want to return to the Premier League and regret it.”

Ince continued: “You see so many kids in the Premier League who are just prepared to play Under-23s football and pick up their cash.

“Sancho is not one of those. He wanted to play senior football regularly.

“We’ve seen the affect it’s had on him and how he’s matured.

“You can see he’s going to be a world-class player.

“He’s been an absolute revelation and reminds of Ryan Giggs in the way he gets bums of seats.

“If he does come back to the UK it’s about picking the right manager and style of team for him.

“For a player like Sancho, he needs to keep testing himself.

“The football he’s used to and the way Dortmund currently play is very similar to Liverpool.

“But Manchester United is an obvious move – for sure – even with Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.”

Sancho had a season to remember in 2019-20 – scoring 17 goals and adding 17 assists in just 32 Bundesliga games.

And he continued that hot form into pre-season too, as he scored off the bench in the 11-2 friendly mauling of Austria Wien.

Man Utd would have so desperately wished they could have had a player like Sancho on Sunday night, according to Paul Scholes.

Solskjaer’s men crashed out of the Europa League in a 2-1 defeat to Sevilla, with forwards failing to take their chances and the defence looking shaky.

With their 2019-20 season now officially over, United’s transfer business will begin in earnest, with Solskjaer plotting a major overhaul.

As well as Sancho, the club have been linked with Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Saul Niguez amongst others.
