Jadon Sancho Hits Back at Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag’s Decision to Drop Him Against Arsenal

Sancho Claims to Be a Scapegoat

Jadon Sancho, the talented winger for Manchester United, has taken to social media to refute claims made by manager Erik ten Hag regarding his omission from the traveling squad for the team's recent 3-1 loss to Arsenal. Ten Hag cited "performances in training" as the reason for Sancho's absence, but the player insists that there are other factors at play. Sancho states, "I have conducted myself in training very well this week… I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!"

Sancho's Plea for Fair Treatment

Sancho expressed his desire to simply contribute to the team and play with a smile on his face. He acknowledged the challenges of playing alongside outstanding teammates and affirmed his respect for the coaching staff's decisions. The player's commitment to the club remains unwavering, stating, "I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what."

Sancho's Journey at Manchester United

Jadon Sancho, 23, joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for a staggering £73 million, following an intense pursuit by the club. However, his time in Manchester has been met with mixed success, with 12 goals in 82 games. Sancho faces tough competition for a spot on the wing this season, with players like Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho vying for the same position. Although Sancho has appeared in all three of United's opening Premier League matches, he has been limited to coming off the bench.

Manager's Justification for Sancho's Exclusion

Responding to the controversy, Erik ten Hag defended his decision by emphasizing the high standards expected at Manchester United. Ten Hag asserted, "We did not select Jadon because of his performances in training. You have to reach a certain level every day…we can make choices in the front line. So for this game, he was not selected." The manager's comments imply that Sancho's training performances fell short of expectations, resulting in his omission from the squad.

Sancho Receives Support from Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan, prominent Arsenal fan and SunSport columnist, has extended an invitation to Jadon Sancho to appear on his TalkTV show uncensored, offering him a platform to share his side of the story. Morgan tweeted, "@PiersUncensored and I'll get you out of this Ten Hag nightmare." It remains to be seen whether Sancho will accept the invitation and shed more light on the situation.
