Jadon Sancho transfer to Man Utd gets green light from Borussia Dortmund but German giants refuse to let him go cheaply

JADON SANCHO will not be stopped from leaving Borussia Dortmund if his heart is set on a move away.

But the German club will refuse to let the England winger leave on the cheap, unsurprisingly.

Jadon Sancho will be allowed to join Manchester United if he decides he wants to leave Borussia Dortmund

Sancho, 20, is a top transfer target for plenty of top sides across Europe but Manchester United are the club leading the chase.

And now his current employers’ chief executive has admitted they will respect the star’s wishes if he decides he wants out.

However, Hans-Joachim Watzke insisted if a deal is done that sees Sancho leave, it will be on the Bundesliga outfit’s terms.

Watzke told Bild: “You always have to respect what the player wants.

“We said before coronavirus that our favourite idea is that Jadon will stay with us.

“I can say that even the very rich clubs, despite the existing crisis, don’t believe they can go on a bargain tour with us.

“We don’t have to sell anyone below value.”

Sancho is under contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2022 after penning an extension in October 2018.

He was high on Manchester United’s wish list last summer but the youngster decided to stay put.

And staying at Dortmund has only rocketed his price tag even more – thought to be around £120m now.

The ex-Manchester City youngster has scored 17 goals and set up a further 19 in all competitions this season.

Reports suggest he has now had a change of heart and is keen for a return to England.

Should he move to Old Trafford, Unitedare said to be ready to hand him their hallowed No7 shirt.

And Sancho would no doubt be desperate to end its “curse” which has plagued Michael Owen, Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay and Alexis Sanchez.
