Joao Felix ‘is open to joining Chelsea’s Premier League rivals in shock transfer this summer’

JOAO FELIX wants to play in the Premier League next season — and not necessarily for Chelsea.

The Portuguese forward, 23, has been on loan with the Blues since January.

Joao Felix wants to play Premier League football next season… ideally with a Champions League club

He has three goals in 17 matches and has generally impressed with his silky style of play.

SunSport understands incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino would ideally like to keep Felix.

And Todd Boehly could offer several players to Atletico Madrid as the Blues look to drive down his £88million price tag.

However, Cope claims Felix is not as keen as Chelsea to continue the partnership.

He does want to continue in the Premier League after adapting quickly.

But while staying at Stamford Bridge remains an option, Felix’s primary goal is to play in the Champions League.

And that could open the door for a move to one of the current top four, with Liverpool also an option should they nick a late spot.

Manchester United have already been linked with a move for Felix.

Reports last month claimed Erik ten Hag was keeping close tabs as he plots a secret swoop.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are interested too as Eddie Howe looks to continue strengthening his squad.

And it is more than likely that Felix will begin his pre-season training at Atletico, with the player himself accepting the process to join a new Premier League team will be a long one.
