Jorginho’s Arsenal future under threat as £12m signing ‘offered reunion with former boss’ in shock transfer

JORGINHO’S Arsenal future is under threat after he was “offered a reunion with a former boss” in a shock transfer.

The Italian midfielder has been an Arsenal player for less than six months but could already be on the move summer.

Jorginho’s Arsenal future has been thrown into doubt

Mikel Arteta brought Jorginho to the club from Chelsea in January as part of a £12million deal.

Jorginho had been signed to add depth in midfield but went on to displace Thomas Partey and made 14 league appearances.

However, 90min report that the Gunners are willing to listen to offers for Jorginho, with Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri keen on a reunion.

The pair have previously worked together at both Napoli and Chelsea, with Sarri bringing Jorginho with him to Stamford Bridge in 2018.

Jorginho has made 162 appearances under the Italian, more than any other manager in his career, and they won the Europa League together in 2019.

The report adds that Lazio’s Serie A rivals Napoli and AC Milan are also interested in a move, although, Arsenal are not actively looking to force him out.

Arteta’s midfield is set for a revamp this summer as Arsenal prepare to return to the Champions League after their second place finish.

Granit Xhaka is set to leave the club after seven years and Albert Sambi Lokonga, following his loan to Crystal Palace, is also expected to be sold.

Fans can expect to see new arrivals as well, though, with Arsenal planning to be busy during the transfer window.

The club have been strongly linked with Declan Rice, who West Ham chairman David Sullivan says will leave this summer.
