Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was caught on camera angrily telling his own supporters to "stop singing that s***" during their victory against Bournemouth.
Displeased with the chants
The incident occurred as fans sang a chant dedicated to Klopp, with lyrics stating "I'm so glad that Jurgen is a red". The animated coach could be seen gesturing for the fans to stop and was later heard shouting an expletive-laden message to the crowd on a pitchside microphone.
Footage goes viral
The incident quickly went viral on social media, with footage of Klopp's outburst spreading rapidly. This is not the first time Klopp has expressed his discomfort with the chant.
Plea for post-match singing
Klopp had previously requested that fans refrain from singing the song during matches and instead save it for post-match celebrations. He explained that the chant gives the false impression that the game is already won, even when the scoreline suggests otherwise.
Liverpool clinches victory
Despite the distractions, Liverpool managed to secure a victory, with goals from Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, and Diogo Jota leading them to a 3-1 win over Bournemouth. This marked their first win of the season.
Red card setback
However, Klopp did face a setback as summer signing Alexis Mac Allister was shown a straight red card during the match. As a result, Allister will miss the upcoming game against Newcastle United.
It remains to be seen how Klopp's message will be received by the fans going forward, but his passion for the game and desire for focus seem unwavering.
