Juventus Eye Arsenal Star as Paul Pogba Replacement Amid Anti-Doping Suspension

French Midfielder Faces Lengthy Ban

Juventus is reportedly making plans to secure a potential replacement for Paul Pogba, who is currently facing a provisional suspension from anti-doping officials. The French midfielder, formerly of Manchester United, tested positive for traces of testosterone after Juventus' first game of the season against Udinese.

Arsenal's Thomas Partey on Juventus' Radar

If Paul Pogba is banned, Juventus is allegedly considering a swoop for Arsenal's Thomas Partey. The Italian club was linked with the Ghanaian midfielder during the summer and La Repubblica's Turin edition has revealed that he is on their shortlist. However, negotiating a deal with the Gunners may prove to be a challenge.

Partey's Importance to Arsenal

Since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45m, Thomas Partey has become a key player for the Gunners. Despite some injury setbacks, his versatility has been vital, particularly this season, as he has filled in as a hybrid right-back in Mikel Arteta's new-look side.

Partey is currently recovering from a hamstring injury that forced him to withdraw from the Ghana squad during the international break.
