Juventus targeting Arsenal's Charlie Patino
Juventus is reportedly planning a move for Arsenal's young talent, Charlie Patino. The Italian giants are willing to offer a former Premier League player as part of the deal.
Patino's background
Charlie Patino, a 20-year-old midfielder, is currently on loan at Swansea City in the Championship. While he is a graduate of Arsenal's academy, he has yet to make an appearance for the Gunners in the Premier League.
Juventus interest
Football scout Michele Fratini revealed earlier this month that Juventus has been monitoring Patino's progress for a potential transfer. Now, Tuttosport reports that Juventus is ready to offer ex-Everton forward Moise Kean, 23, as part of the deal.
Financial limitations
Arsenal values Patino, who still has 18 months left on his contract, at around £17.4 million. However, Juventus is unable to afford this amount in the January transfer window. Instead, they are considering a part-exchange deal that would see Kean moving to Arsenal.
Competition from Inter Milan
Rising interest from Serie A rivals Inter Milan has prompted Juventus to act swiftly and secure Patino's services. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's desire for more attacking options could make the proposed deal even more enticing.
Struggles for Kean
However, it's worth noting that Kean has struggled to find the back of the net this season, failing to score in 15 appearances. His previous stint in England with Everton was equally underwhelming, with just two goals in 32 Premier League matches.
By considering this transfer swap deal, Juventus and Arsenal may find a mutually beneficial solution to strengthen their squads.
