Kerr, Miedema and Hemp nominated for Women’s PFA Player of the Year gong but Arsenal star Mead not on shortlist

SAM KERR and Vivianne Miedema are among the WSL stars in contention for the PFA Women’s Player of the Year gong.

Pernille Harder and Manchester City’s Lauren Hemp are also among six top tier aces shortlisted, but Gunners ace Beth Mead is a surprise omission.

Sam Kerr finished the season as the WSL’s top scorer

Beth Mead was one of Arsenal’s most impressive performers last season

Mead, 27, who made history by becoming the first woman player to score a hat-trick for England at Wembley, has been on fire for her club in recent months.

The Yorkshire-born Arsenal ace enjoyed a standout season for Jonas Eidevall’s side last term bagging 11 goals and eights in 22 league games.

And her efforts helped push the Gunners close to winning a fourth WSL title before they finished one point behind champions Chelsea.

Kerr, 28, and Miedema, 25, made the PFA’s shortlist after finishing as the two highest scorers in the league last term.
