Leicester City chase Man City’s England U21 star James Trafford after sealing Harry Winks transfer from Tottenham

LEICESTER are on the trail of England Under-21 sensation James Trafford.

The goalkeeper, 20, has been the breakout star of the Young Lions’ impressive campaign at the Under-21 Euros.

Leicester are chasing a move for Man City and England U21s goalie James Trafford

Relegated Leicester are considering moving for a stopper.

And they have been impressed with Trafford, who is set to be loaned out again from Manchester City next term.

Yet it remains to be seen whether the Foxes would be keen to borrow a new goalie rather than sign one on a permanent transfer basis.

Trafford claimed before this summer’s Euros in Georgia that he would be ready to play in a Champions League final NOW if given the chance.

That’s despite playing no higher than League One at club level to date.

But he has backed up his bold words with three excellent performances in England’s flawless group stage.

The stopper has picked up a hat-trick of clean sheets, showing excellent distribution, shot-stopping and confidence in possession.

Trafford will be in between the sticks again tomorrow when Lee Carsley’s side take on Portugal in the quarter-finals in Kutaisi.

Leicester appointed City’s first-team coach Enzo Maresca last month as their new boss.

They have wrapped up a deal for Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks.

And the Foxes have also pounced for Wolves centre-back Conor Coady.
