GARY LINEKER poked fun at Eric Dier’s mad toilet dash last night – after his own unforgettable mishap on the pitch.
Spurs star Dier had to rush off the pitch for a No 2 during the Carabao Cup clash against Chelsea.
Fortunately he made it back just in time as Erik Lamela equalised and Tottenham won 5-4 on penalties.
Dier joked after the game that the toilet should have been awarded the Man of the Match award.
Lineker probably wished he could have done the same at Italia 90, when he memorably had to, er, relieve himself on the pitch.
But the Match of the Day host is far from alone in being unable to hold it in…
Fabien Barthez
The former Manchester United keeper simply had to go when playing for Marseille against Inter Milan in 2007.
And he seemingly did not care who saw, nonchalantly emptying his bladder on the pitch.
Ronaldo
The Brazilian legend is famed for deceiving defenders the world over with his dazzling array of tricks.
But he could not evade the cameras at the 1996 Olympics – nor could Rivaldo block their view – as he peed on the pitch.
Sergio Ramos
Real Madrid and Spain legend Ramos had to quickly vacate the field during a LaLiga game against Eibar in 2018.
Why? Well it’s hard to put it better than Zinedine Zidane said: “He s*** himself a little bit.”
Jens Lehmann
Former Arsenal keeper Lehman had a sneaky way of going about his business when playing for Stuttgart in the Champions League in 2009.
With the ball still in play and the game going on, he hopped behind the advertising hoarding, had a wee, then jumped back into action.
Luckily, Lehmann also avoided a yellow for leaving the pitch without the referee’s permission.
Fernando Navarro
Sevilla midfielder Navarro wasn’t even playing against Elche in 2015 so could have gone to the loo.
But instead he decided to pee into a bottle while sitting in the dugout, his team-mate holding up a top to cover him.
Wait a minute, what’s the urine-coloured liquid his mate is dri– no, we’re not even going to think about it.
Paul Gothard
The former Auckland City goalkeeper didn’t even bother trying to hide his moment of embarrassment.
Playing Congolese side TP Mezembe in the 2009 Fifa Club World Cup, the Kiwi simply dropped to his knees and let it all flow out.
Jason Puncheon
Former Southampton man Puncheon was ‘doing a Dier’ before it was a thing, running off the pitch to poo when Saints played Everton in 2013.
When scoring against Man City in a later game, Puncheon celebrated by wiping his bum.
Cue the chant: “He s**** when he wants, Jason Puncheon, he s**** when he wants.”
