Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hints at making NO more transfer signings this summer as he to looks offload fringe stars

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp does not have ‘the itch’ when it comes to signing more players.

The Reds have had a quiet transfer in terms of incomings, and it doesn’t look like there will be any more Anfield arrivals this summer according to the MailOnline.

Klopp has led Liverpool to two wins from two games so far this season

Jurgen Klopp has suggested a low-key end to the transfer window when it comes to new additions.

But there could be more fringe players on their way out of the club after Xherdan Shaqiri’s £9.5million move to Lyon.

The Swiss international follows Harry Wilson, Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi who have all made permanent moves away from Anfield this summer.

And there may still be more outgoings at Anfield before deadline day.

Crystal Palace, Wolves and West Ham are reportedly interested in striker Divock Origi.

The 26-year-old has struggled for game time since his Champions League final goal in 2019 and has been widely linked with a move away from the club.

Ibrahima Konate is Liverpool’s only new arrival this window, sealing a £36million switch from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig earlier this summer.

And speaking on the topic of new signings, Klopp said: “I’m a football fan as well and guilty of being attracted to a story about which team might sign which player.

“The difference is I don’t have that ‘itch’ when it comes to us.

“I don’t for one second criticise anyone – be it fan, pundit, journalist or players and coaches – for getting drawn into the allure of transfers.

“But as the manager of this team and leader of this football club, I must always view these things with the proper perspective.

“We have exceptional players and we have long-term commitments for the majority of them.”

Klopp is alluding to the new contracts that Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Fabinho have all signed so far this summer.

And the Reds are currently in negotiations with Mo Salah regarding a new deal with just two years left on the star man’s current contract.

Jurgen Klopp also expects club captain Jordan Henderson to put pen to paper on a long-term extension in the near future.
