Liverpool ‘put Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain up for sale in transfer window with Reds to take £25m loss on ex-Arsenal man’

LIVERPOOL are reportedly ready to take a £25million loss to offload flop midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 28, arrived on Merseyside from Arsenal for £35million in 2017.

Liverpool are willing to take a £25m loss to offload Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer

But he’s spent the majority of his Anfield career on the sidelines due to a plethora of injuries.

The former England international only featured six times for the Reds this season across all competitions.

That’s even though the Reds were chasing an unprecedented Quadruple.

The arrival of Luis Diaz in January also pushed Oxlade-Chamberlain further down the pecking order.

The Mirror claim Jurgen Klopp’s side are willing to let the Ox leave for around £10m this summer.

At least the Reds will recoup a partial amount of Oxlade-Chamberlain‘s transfer fee as his contract expires in summer 2023.

Aston Villa and West Ham are two sides interested in snapping him up in the imminent transfer window, the report adds.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is married to singer Perrie Edwards of the girl group Little Mix, will feel right at home at Villa where ex-Liverpool boss Steven Gerrard is in charge.

Gerrard has already brought in former Reds comrade Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

And Gerrard’s reportedly plotting to bring in another ex-Liverpool star Luis Suarez.

Atletico Madrid ace Suarez will be a free agent in the summer, and Gerrard wants his old team-mate to help Villa break into the Premier League’s “big six” next season.
