VIRGIL VAN DIJK put off Everton striker Moise Kean by shouting at him just before he took a shot – and risked getting his name in the book.
Ballon d’Or runner-up Van Dijk was caught screaming at the Toffees frontman in last night’s 5-2 Merseyside derby win for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Teenager Kean went on to miss his 85th-minute effort by miles at Anfield – thanks to Van Dijk’s scheming.
But some viewers were certain the Reds defender should have been shown a yellow for his “Sunday League tactics”.
And indeed, under Football Association Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct, it states that players should be cautioned for “unsporting behaviour” if they “verbally distract an opponent during play or at a restart”.
Fans were less concerned with that, though, and more with his amateurish tactics.
One, slightly confusingly, wrote: “Got him with a classic. Ninety per cent of the time it works every time.”
Another viewer said: “Sunday League tactics.”
A fellow user posted: “Worked when I was 10. I don’t see why it shouldn’t work at 20 or 25.
“Guy’s about to control the ball or shoot? Scream to scare him, f*** it.”
And another said: “I’d probably leave the pitch if a giant massive Dutchman was screaming at me.”
Liverpool made it a club-record 32 games unbeaten in the league after the win that sent them eight points clear.
But Peter Crouch joked Mo Salah would be “fuming” after he was left on the bench, denting his hopes of winning the Golden Boot.
Van Dijk was slammed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister after he made a joke about the Juventus superstar at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The Holland hero – who finished runner-up to Lionel Messi – later praised Ronaldo, who he earlier joked was not a rival for the award.
