LIVERPOOL want Brazil sensation Evanilson and could get him on a free transfer with the forward out of contract in February
The Fluminese striker, 20, would link up with compatriots Alisson and Roberto Firmino at Anfield, claim Brazilian outlet Netflu.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp already has Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi in a devastating frontline.
But the German sees Evanilson as one for the future and might be tempted to offer cash-strapped Fluminese around 4million to bring him to Anfield in January.
And the fact that he could arrive so cheaply has got the money men at Anfield excited.
Brazilian football journalist Robbie Blakely told Football Whispers: “Fluminense are cash-strapped so even if a bid was something like 4m, a relative pittance for a Premier League club, a fortune for the club in their current predicament.
“Brazilian teams love selling to the Premier League, and China, but not just because of the money on offer. The exposure they receive benefits them in the long run.”
The Merseysiders have been keeping an eye on his form this year for the Brazil Serie A side.
With young striker Rhian Brewster set to move to either Swansea or Aston Villa on loan in January, Klopp needs an extra forward just in case of an injury crisis.
The Reds are currently eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Klopp told the Liverpool Echo a striker was a strong possibility, saying: “Yes, we have to see. We can’t just give the boys on loan because we have built this squad.
“We have three long-term injuries and four with Paul Glatzel, two of them were pre-season. Two came later with Joel Matip and Fabinho.
“That gives us a 16-player squad and I count the kids, but we cannot only give players on loan and think it is good for him, we always have to consider both situations, the boys’ and ours.”
Evanilson has only just stepped up from the Fluminese Under-20 team.
He has played just three games for the seniors so far in his fledgling career.
But Reds scouts have seen something in him and believe he can become a top player.
