Man City ‘AGREE £100m transfer with Erling Haaland’ as strike sensation choses Etihad over Real Madrid and Barcelona

MANCHESTER CITY have agreed a transfer in the region of £100million to sign Erling Haaland, reports say.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has been heavily linked with a move to Spain with Real Madrid and Barcelona fighting it out for his signature.

But according to the Daily Mail, City have secured a deal to pinch the forward from under the LaLiga giants’ noses.

Personal terms are said to have been discussed and the framework of the transfer ‘is ready to be signed off by City chiefs’.

Haaland has a £63million release clause in his Dortmund contract but his agent Mino Raiola is also set to earn a substantial payment.

Those fees, along with a signing-on bonus, likely take the total towards £100m.

Barcelona and PSG are still interested in Haaland Real Madrid are believed to be the Premier League champion’s most significant rival.

But the Spaniards have PSG’s Kylian Mbappe – available for free in the summer – as their No1 target.

Haaland, 21, also has a connection to City, with father Alfie spending three years at the club after leaving Leeds United in 2000.

City have played the entire season without a recognised striker, deploying false 9’s having not yet replaced Sergio Aguero 33.

Haaland has scored an astonishing 80 goals in his 79 games for Dortmund since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in 2020.

But he has been sidelined since the start of February with a muscle injury and is nearing a return to the side.
