Man City star Bernardo Silva ‘texted Barcelona to urge them to buy him’ as midfielder linked with stunning transfer

BERNARDO SILVA has reportedly sent TEXTS to Barcelona chiefs asking for them to sign him.

Bernardo, 27, wanted to leave Manchester City last summer to be closer to his family but went on to enjoy another excellent season under Pep Guardiola.

Now according to Mundo Deportivo, the tricky midfielder is pushing for a move back to Iberia.

The star spoke with Barca representatives when they were in Manchester to finalise the Ferran Torres transfer last season.

They thought Bernardo was joking until he followed up with TEXT messages.

The report claims that Bernardo is “intent” on playing for Xavi’s team.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has “confirmed his client’s desire” to sign with president Joan Laporta.

Bernardo and Mendes have had a “number of meetings” with representatives of the Catalan club.

His contract with Man City doesn’t expire until 2025.

After playing for his country during the international break, the playmaker would not entertain questions over whether he will leave.

Bernardo said: “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to answer, because I’m at the service of the national team and super focused on the game that remains.

“When the season ends, we’ll see what happens.”

Unless anything changes, Bernardo will start the season with the Premier League champions despite his wishes.
