What Happened?
During a recent match, Manchester City star Rico Lewis was struck by a lighter thrown from the crowd. The incident occurred midway through the first half after Lewis was brought down in the corner flag by Conor Roberts.
Idiotic Fan Throws Missile
While Roberts protested his innocence, Lewis started to get back up when he was hit by the lighter thrown from the direction of Burnley fans. He fell back down in anguish but thankfully did not need any medical help.
Lewis Continues Playing
Despite the incident, Lewis, who is an academy graduate, was able to continue playing. His resilient performance on the field was a surprise selection choice, with Josko Gvardiol having to settle for a place on the bench.
Haaland Shines as Man City Takes Lead
Things started to turn around for Manchester City when Erling Haaland opened his account for the season within the first three minutes. The striker reacted quickly, beating six Clarets defenders to score from Rodri's cutback. Haaland later doubled his lead with a clinical finish after being set up by Julian Alvarez.
Captain De Bruyne Injured
Unfortunately, it wasn't all smooth sailing for City. Their captain, Kevin De Bruyne, was forced off the pitch with a suspected knee injury.
