MANCHESTER United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all looking to sign RB Salzburg’s young striker Erling Haaland in the January transfer window, but they might have to be patient for now.
The 19-year-old who scored in his fourth successive Champions League match on Tuesday is also considering joining Bundesliga’s RB Leipzig.
Leipzig are close too the top of the table in third after thrashing Mainz and Wolfsburg in the DFB Cup, while also sitting top of Group G in the Champions League.
Sky Sports report that Leipzig are hoping to convince the young star to join their team and avoid a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs – for now at least.
Manager Julian Nagelsmann is hoping the powerful Norwegian striker will agree to stay within the Red Bull group, and swap Austria for Germany.
The young striker is also sought after by Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona as well as Italian Serie A’s Juventus, as all three clubs have launched plans to sign the youngster.
His valuation has now gone beyond 86million.
Haaland, son of former Manchester City, Leeds and Nottingham Forest midfielder Alf-Inge Haaland, has 23 goals to his name so far this season, in just 17 appearances.
Alf-Inge Haaland has hinted his son’s interest in playing in the Premier League, specifically for Manchester City.
He told TALKSPORT: ”He was a Leeds fan and a [Manchester] City fan and a Nottingham Forest fan.
”He followed me but that’s what you do in your youth.”
Haaland Junior’s Tuesday night success made it his seventh Champions League goal in just four games, including the 11th-minute penalty against Napoli which saw him reach an impressive milestone becoming the first player to score more than five goals in their first four Champions League matches.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United are expected to strengthen their attack in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils did manage to seal their place in the last 32 of the Europa League but are still struggling in the Premier League as they sit 10th in the table.
