Man Utd and Everton to battle it out for former Liverpool flop Rafa Camacho

MANCHESTER UNITED could return to Sporting CP for another purchase after joining the race for ex-Liverpool starlet Rafa Camacho.

The 19-year-old left the Reds in the summer in a bid to secure first-team football at former home Lisbon.

However it has taken some time for Camacho to break into the Sporting side with only four league starts to his name, most of which coming since the turn of the year.

That hasn’t stopped a number of Premier League sides taking an interest in his services.

According to Football Insider, United face competition from Everton and Tottenham with the trio just some of the growing number of clubs scouting Camacho.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also named as keeping tabs on the winger’s situation after he snubbed a new contract at Liverpool in the summer.

In three years at Anfield, the Portuguese youth international excelled in the UEFA Youth League, scoring four goals and making three assists in last season’s group stage.

But first-team opportunities were limited and he left with a single start to his name, along with just a lone minute of action in the Prem.

Liverpool have become somewhat notorious this season however for trusting their young players with filling out entire teams in cup matches.

Camacho should not find game time might too hard to come by though with Sporting now shorn of Bruno Fernandes, recruited by United last month.

The Lisbon side sit fourth in Primeira Liga, some 22 points off runaway leaders Benfica.
