MANCHESTER UNITED and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Inter Milan ace Alessandro Bastoni, reports suggest.
That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim that United and Spurs are set for a bidding war over Bastoni in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Inter‘s financial woes have eased up but it seems like they will not be able to avoid selling at least one big name to balance the books once more after offloading Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea last year.
The Nerazzurri are desperate to hold on to star man Lautaro Martinez, who has been previously linked with the North Londoners, and that is why Bastoni is the likeliest candidate to go.
The centre-back stood out in Simone Inzaghi’s backline this season and many expect him to reach great heights.
Among them is Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who coached him during his brief stint at the San Siro.

Conte has yet to confirm his future in north London but can only be convinced to stay if the club invests heavily in the coming transfer market.
New United manager Erik ten Hag also wishes to bolster his backline following a disastrous campaign, which marked the Red Devils’ worst ever Premier League season.
Manchester City also enquired about Bastoni in the past but it doesn’t look like the Prem champions are in the running this time around.
Bastoni joined Inter from Atalanta in 2017 and was established as a key figure in defence following a loan stint back with the Dea and Parma.
