Man Utd behind Arsenal in all-time Premier League and First Division table as Liverpool runaway leaders

MANCHESTER UNITED are behind Arsenal in a comprehensive all-time table of the Premier League and First Division, but Liverpool take the No1 spot.

Worldfootball.net compiled the extensive list charting English football’s 131 year history to help fans settle long-running debates about the best teams to ever grace the top-flight.

Liverpool lead the way in the all-time history of the English top-flight

Gunners supporters will be buoyed to see they are ahead of old rivals United after the two sides dominated the early Premier League era, sharing all but one of the first 12 league titles between them.

Arsenal are in second spot after totting up 6,755 points from 4,162 games at the highest level domestically.

The North London side have the longest unbroken run in the top-flight after spending 101 consecutive seasons competing against the best since 1919.

The Red Devils do not even make the top three after being edged out by Everton – who have the second best unbroken run at the top after only missing four seasons since 1888.

But it is Everton’s Merseyside rivals Liverpool who are streaks ahead of the rest and can lay claim to being England’s best ever side.

The Reds have amassed an incredible 6,921 points from 4,163 top-flight matches.

The table reflects the Anfield side’s dominance in the 1980s as they have not won a league title in 30 years.

Liverpool were crowned First Division champions an impressive eight times between 1978 and 1990.

Jurgen Klopp‘s team are set to break their title drought shortly after the Prem returns on June 17.

His side are the league’s runaway leaders – 25 points ahead of second-placed Manchester City having played a game more.

They can be crowned champions at Goodison Park in the Merseyside derby on June 21 if Arsenal do them a favour by pulling off a result at the Etihad on Wednesday.

Skipper Jordan Henderson may be faced with a bizarre socially distanced trophy lift without any fans to witness his side’s historic achievement.
