MANCHESTER UNITED have been handed a boost following reports that Borussia Dortmund are lining up Jadon Sancho’s replacement.
SEday Times claim that the Bundesliga runners-up have initiated discussions for Lille’s £41 million attacker Jonathan Ikone.
The report adds that Dortmund are keen to secure the France midfielder for less than half Dortmund’s £90m asking price for Sancho.
Ikone has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Lille, scoring three league goals and laying on six assists.

The 22-year-old broke into France’s national team in September having been signed from Paris Saint-Germain for £4.6m in July 2018.
United meanwhile are desperate to land number one target Sancho but are unwillingly to spend more than £50m in a Covid-affected transfer window.
The England International — who has scored 30 goals in 78 Bundesliga appearances — is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.
Dortmund have repeatedly warned United that they do not intend to allow the 20-year-old to leave at a discount.
