Man Utd ‘draw up five-man transfer shortlist if Jadon Sancho deal falls through including Douglas Costa and Milik

MANCHESTER UNITED have drawn up a five-man shortlist of alternatives to Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

United have seemingly spent the entire summer chasing the Borussia Dortmund winger but the German club appear to have closed the door on a summer exit for the 20-year-old England international.

The Red Devils failed to reach Dortmund’s August 10 deadline to place a £108million bid and the move looks to be dead in the water, which has led United to switch their attention to other targets.

The Express claims Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, Bournemouth’s Josh King, Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan and Juventus winger Douglas Costa are all under consideration.

Watford star Sarr scored six goals and registered six assists in 30 appearances in 2019/20 following a £25million move from French side Rennes last summer.

The Hornets’ relegation means the Senegal international could be available for around £40million.

United would face competition for Bournemouth forward King from Italian side Torino who have opened talks for the 28-year-old, while Tottenham are also interested.

Milik, 26, is also a target for Spurs after the Napoli frontman saw a move to Roma collapse earlier this month.

The Pole looks to be on his way out of the Stadio San Paolo following the £75million signing of Victor Osimhen and has yet to be assigned a squad number for the new season.

Perisic, 31, spent last season on loan at treble-winning Bayern Munich is free to leave Inter Milan with the Italian giants keen to lower their wage bill.

The Croatian was wanted by Jose Mourinho during his time in charge of United but the club hierarchy vetoed a move.

Brazilian Costa is also for sale and has been linked with a move to Wolves.

Reports yesterday suggested United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Sancho he is confident a deal will be done soon, with the player having already agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit.

United are reportedly preparing a final offer for Sancho of £90million including add-ons.

The former Manchester City academy player managed 20 goals and 20 assists in all competitions last season and has one goal and two assists so far this term.
