MANCHESTER UNITED fans have slammed Ed Woodward online after he appeared to shout at United legend Sir Alex Ferguson during their team’s 3-3 draw with Sheffield United last night.
Executive vice-chairman Woodward appeared to have a feisty exchange with Fergie before the game and fans online were having none of it.
The Red Devils went two goals behind at Bramall Lane before a brilliant comeback –but then saw Oli McBurnie score a controversial late equaliser in a 3-3 thriller.
Ferguson and Woodward seemed to exchange words in the stands as before watching another dire United display unfold.
An image of the pair looking angry with each other and Woodward pointing mid-sentence went viral on social media.
But further images showed the pair going through a range of emotions during their chat, with some smiles also seen.
Despite the confusion surrounding the nature of the exchange, supporters on Twitter slammed Woodward for his apparent slight on one of the greatest managers of all time.
One posted: “What a smug get Woodward is #Glazersout #woodwardout who the hell does he think he is needs sacking.”
Another added: “Look at the way he’s talking to the greatest manager of all time.”
Fans were unwilling to see the funny side after the woeful performance with one calling Woodward “bloody clueless” and saying he has “no idea how to run a football club”.
