MANCHESTER UNITED fans are clamouring for keeper Dean Henderson to come back to Old Trafford after he was named in FIFA’s Team of the Season So Far.

The 23-year-old has impressed in his maiden Premier League campaign this season on loan at Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, David de Gea, who penned a new contract back in September, suffered from poor form after making a league-record seventh error leading to a goal.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to have considered bringing Henderson back to play second fiddle to his Spanish No1.

But United fans want him challenging to be in the first-team after EA Sports announced that Henderson had been named in their Team of the Season So Far.

The England stopper’s FIFA 20 Ultimate Card at the start of the season was a non-rare 75-rated gold card.

Yet his impressive performances has seen EA award him an 88-rated card, just one value lower than De Gea’s base rating on the game.

One fan tweeted: “Can’t wait to see you play in a Utd shirt!”

Another said: “Dean you deserve to be mufc number 1. Please wait however long it will take for you to get that shirt cause you will get it and become a legend.”

A third added: “You deserve it completely! Looking forward to seeing you at Old Trafford.”

Despite his form, SunSport revealed that United are set to loan Henderson out again as the academy stopper is forced to bide his time at the club.

Henderson’s performances have attracted the interest of a number of top clubs.

Juventus and Chelsea are believed to be interested in sealing a permanent move – but United are reluctant.

Sergio Romero is current deputy at Old Trafford, while veteran Lee Grant signed a one-year extension back in March.
