Man Utd FINED £65,000 for players’ behaviour vs Fulham as they top list of punished clubs this season

MAN UNITED have been FINED £65,000 for the players’ behaviour against Fulham.

The fine comes after the Red Devils were charged for failing to control its players during the FA Cup quarter-final over Fulham at Old Trafford.

Man United have been fined for players’ behaviour during the game against Fulham

The club was charged in March for the way the players surrounded referee Chris Kavanagh as they appealed for a penalty after Fulham’s Willian handled the ball.

Jadon Sancho’s goalbound effort was blocked on the line by the Brazilian and Kavanagh initially waved play on, leading to the protests.

However, after a VAR check, a penalty was given and Willian was sent off.

Aleksandr Mitrovic and manager Marco Silva were also dismissed for their reactions to the incidents.

At the time there were no punishments handed out to Man United players.

However the club was charged in the following days and despite appealing the Old Trafford side has now accepted the charges.

The FA confirmed this and that the club have been handed a £65,000 fine.

The fine means that the Red Devils are now the most punished club this season.

It is the fourth time the club have been fined this season following three other offences.

United have been fined £137,000 for the previous offences of failing to control their players, in the matches against Newcastle and Chelsea in October and Crystal Palace in January.

This means that the club has been fined a total of £202,000 this season.

Arsenal were the previous club to have had the most fines this season with the club losing £185,000.
