Man Utd flop Alexis Sanchez earned staggering 5m in performance bonuses despite just five goals in past year

ALEXIS SANCHEZ pocketed an incredible 5million in bonuses from Manchester United last year – despite scoring just five goals.

The Chilean forward banked the equivalent of 100,000-per-week despite failing to live up to expectations since his switch from Arsenal.

Sanchez set up a company called Goodway Limited when he made the move to Old Trafford in January 2018.

And accounts show that he raked in 4,920,011 from performance related bonuses and image rights in a year.

He received the cash on top of his whopping 400,000-per-week wages.

It works out that the 30-year-old pocketed 1million in bonuses per goal he scored for United.

In total for the Red Devils, Sanchez scored five goals and made nine assists for 45 appearances.

He has now joined Italian giants Inter Milan on loan in a desperate bid to revive his career.

But he has been ruled out until Christmas as he is set to undergo surgery on his ankle.

The on-loan striker dislocated tendons during Chile’s draw with Colombia during the international break.

Prior to his latest setback, Sanchez claimed that he has rediscovered his “love for football again”after joining Inter on loan.

But regardless of how successful his spell in Italy becomes, United do not want him to return to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side willoffload the Chilean winger next summer and will demand at least 25million for him.
