Man Utd ‘given 12-day Jadon Sancho deadline by Borussia Dortmund to seal £110m transfer’ or miss out

BORUSSIA DORTMUND have reportedly told Manchester United that they must complete a deal to sign Jadon Sancho by August 10.

A hotly-anticipated £110million switch remains far from certain and the Bundesliga club are determined to plan for next season with the winger in their ranks.

Jadon Sancho could return to Manchester after leaving City in 2017

With Dortmund’s pre-season beginning on Thursday, they then head to Switzerland for a training camp in 12 days’ time.

According to Bild and the Mail, Borussia want Sancho’s future sorted by then, allowing them to properly prepare for another Bundesliga title challenge.

Whether United can break through in negotiations so soon remains to be seen.

Varying reports of offers and valuations have been circulated, namely over an initial £89m bid by the Red Devils.

Several outlets have reported on the Old Trafford club’s refusal to meet Dortmund’s £110m asking price.

The coronavirus pandemic is expected to drive transfer fees down this summer but the German side are not thought to have a need to sell.

Sancho’s contract, worth a healthy £190,000-a-week, expires in two years’ time after the 20-year-old put pen to paper last summer.

A mega season of 20 goals and 20 assists continued the England international’s rise and United midfielder Jesse Lingard recently spoke of his desire to see Sancho sign.

He said: “Jadon is a brilliant player. It is obviously up to him.

“I’ve seen him with England, I’ve seen his qualities and I feel like he’d be a great addition to any team.”

Should a deal for Sancho, who has been on holiday in Ibiza in recent days, fail then Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich was reportedly a target for United.

However reports in Germany insist the Bavarians would not sell one of their first-choice wingers.

Meanwhile, Dortmund are said by Bild to be tracking Jonathan Ikone of Lille and Sassuolo’s Jeremie Boga as potential signings, should Sancho leave.
