MANCHESTER UNITED fan favourite Patrice Evra revealed Ed Woodward’s “betrayal” forced him out of the club he loved.
The Frenchman even admitted he would have played for United in the Championship despite reaching a Champions League final with Juventus.
Evra, 39, left Old Trafford for the Old Lady in 2014 for a fee of £1.2million.

It was reported at the time how the left-back didn’t officially hand in a transfer request but asked the club to let him leave.
Woodward had triggered a last-gasp one-year extension to his contract which left Evra furious at the way he was treated.
Speaking to the Guardian, Evra said: “I felt betrayed by Ed.
“I called Juventus to tell them I am coming.
“Ed then said: ‘We offer you a two-year contract, more money, the captaincy, a testimonial.’ [It was] Too late.
“My ex-wife said: ‘See? Manchester are nearly in the Championship and you’re in this final.’
“I love Juventus but I said: ‘Even if they’re in the Championship, I prefer to be at United. Nothing can replace my love for them.’”
Evra’s departure coincided with a summer of change at Old Trafford which also saw the dismissal of boss David Moyes.
United had finished the campaign in seventh spot and replaced the Scot with Louis van Gaal.
And Evra, who helped convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign Bruno Fernandes, admitted Moyes was handed an impossible task because not all of the players respected him.
He added: “When Ferguson left, United lost their DNA, their philosophy.
“He was inspiring so much respect, so much fear, and if any player starts thinking he is bigger than the team then he destroyed you.
“The players always wanted to play for Ferguson.
“I tried my best for David Moyes but I knew it would be a disaster because players won’t respect him like that. It was a mission impossible.”
