Man Utd ‘launch £51m bid for Antony but Ajax set to REJECT Erik ten Hag’s offer as Dutch giants hold out for £20m more’

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly seen a bid rejected for transfer target Antony, according to reports.

The skilful winger played under new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

Antony helped Ajax win the Dutch title and former boss Ten Hag wants to bring him to Man Utd

And the Dutchman wants Antony to follow him to Old Trafford ahead of the new season.

According to Goal, Man Utd tabled a bid worth £51million for Brazil international Antony, but the offer was turned down with Ajax holding out for more.

The Dutch champions would like to collect a fee closer to £68m, putting United nearly £20m short of the valuation.

However, Antony’s representatives are pushing for the Amsterdam-based side to sell the forward for a lower prize to get a deal done with United.

Whether Ajax lower their asking price is yet to be seen, but they’re in a strong negotiating position with Antony tied down until 2025.

Antony, 22, had a standout season netting 12 goals across all competitions.

He also managed to provide ten assists, with four of those coming in the Champions League.

Antony may not be the only player with links to Dutch football arriving at Old Trafford.

Former Ajax, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Brentford ace Christian Eriksen has agreed to join Man Utd.

The playmaker spent six months of last season at Premier League newcomers Brentford following his release from Inter after he collapsed at Euro 2020 and needed an ICD fitted.

Ten Hag is familiar with Eriksen, with the player training at Ajax last season to keep his fitness up.

Ajax defenders Lisandro Martinez and Jurrien Timber have also been linked with moves following their former boss to the Prem.

And Tyrell Malacia has already signed, joining Man Utd from Dutch side Feyenoord.

The 22-year-old left-back was a target of Ten Hag’s at Ajax.
