Man Utd legends Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand vow to quit Twitter as ex-players react to Liverpool title win

MANCHESTER UNITED legends Gary Neville and Rio Ferdinand jokingly vowed to quit Twitter in the wake of Liverpool’s Premier League title win.

Kop legend Jamie Carragher was loving the historic victory and tweeted a photoshopped picture of Neville in a Liverpool shirt holding a bottle of champagne with the hashtag #19.

Moments before, Neville tweeted a waving-goodbye emoji, signalling he’s taking time out from the social media platform.

And Ferdinand also revealed he was ready to take some time off Twitter due to Liverpool’s jubilant celebrations.

He said: “Brb Twitter… see you in a couple of weeks!”

Despite being enemies on the field back in their playing days, Carragher and Neville are now great pals after joining forces in the field of punditry.

And more banter is sure to flow in the coming days as Liverpool toast their wonderful achievement.

The Reds secured their first-ever Premier League title on Thursday night after Manchester City lost 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

There are still SEVEN games to play, with Liverpool already a cool 23 points ahead of City.

They’ve lost just one game throughout the entire campaign.
