Man Utd on red alert over Kalidou Koulibaly transfer as they ‘worry about Lindelof and Maguire partnership’

MANCHESTER UNITED will reportedly move for Kalidou Koulibaly if he becomes available because they are concerned about Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof’s partnership.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the Napoli centre-back for months and are on red alert in case the chance to sign him comes up.

Man Utd are on red alert over Kalidou Koulibaly as they are concerned about Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof’s partnership

United signed Maguire for £85million from Leicester last summer while Lindelof, 26, has been at Old Trafford since 2017.

But their performances together this season have left some at United concerned and even more desperate to land 29-year-old Koulibaly, according to Marca.

United were given a boost last week amid claims that Napoli would be prepared to drop their price from £80m to £65m.

However, Manchester City and Liverpool have been previously linked with the Senegalese and if there is a bidding war, United could struggle after shelling out so much already on Maguire.

Sadio Mane recently urged Liverpool to make their move for the “world class” defender.

But the Senegal international still has three years remaining on his deal with the Serie A side.

And he has hinted he would be happy to continue his career with them despite the speculation surrounding his future.

Koulibaly has been a rock in the middle of Napoli’s back four since he joined them from Genk in 2014.
