Romero, who earns £100,000-a-week, is now FOURTH choice at the Red Devils behind David De Gea, Dean Henderson and Lee Grant.

He was fuming after boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left him out of his Premier League and Champions League squad.

United then surprisingly blocked his loan move to Everton in the summer despite the Toffees willing to pay a £2million fee and his entire wages.

Having been part of the squad since 2015, Romero’s wife Eliana then slammed United on Instagram.

She wrote: “Sergio Romero worked hard for his club.

“Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him.

Romero’s wife Eliana heavily criticised Man Utd’s treatment of Sergio

“He helped the team reach four finals/semi-finals and then he was on the bench, only to lose them all.

“It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!! [sic].”

Romero was a key part of United’s Europa campaign last season and played in the quarter-final win before being dropped against Sevilla in the last four.
