MANCHESTER UNITED are set to be charged after fans launched missiles at Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone following their Champions League exit.
The Red Devils were beaten 2-1 on aggregate by the Spanish champions after losing 1-0 at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The Spaniard sprinted down the tunnel immediately after his side secured the win
Straight after the referee blew his whistle to signal the end of the tie, Simeone sprinted down the tunnel and headed back to the dressing room.
But while making his way off the touchline he was subjected to several Man Utd supporters throwing objects at him.
Most of the things thrown appeared to be drinks – but they missed their target as Simeone made it to cover without being directly hit.
And now the Premier League side could be heavily fined for the actions of their fans.

Charges are usually issued at the end of a European week.
Meanwhile, Atletico’s win means Simeone’s side become the first team to dump the three English winners of the Champions League out in the knockout stages after Chelsea in 2014 and Liverpool in 2020.
And it also confirms United’s trophy drought continues.
Their last piece of silverware was way back in 2017 – the five-season stretch is their longest wait since 1974.

Atletico captain Koke said: “We deserved the win in the first leg, but fought so hard here to get what we deserved from this tie.
“We want to go far in the competition and it’s incredible to still be in it.
“It’s important for us to still be in the Champions League in what’s an up-and-down season.
“For me, Jan Oblak is the best goalkeeper in the world. He’s shown it once again tonight.”
